MARKHAM LUTHERAN CHURCH - Baptized to serve.

In response to the COVID-19 Pandemic, and wishing to do our part in protecting one another and our communities, we will not be gathering together physically for Adult Forum/Sunday school and Worship for several more weeks; Pastor and church officers will be meeting at the end of May to discuss a plan for reopening, following English District and State of Illinois guidelines, when we are able to do so. In the meantime, Pastor will continue to record short meditation and prayer services so that we can worship together; you can view them here, on our Facebook page, and on YouTube (our channel is simply titled Markham Lutheran Church).

Markham Lutheran Church (MLC) was established in Markham, Illinois, "the Prairie City in the Prairie State," almost 80 years ago. The Lutheran Church is a sacramental church, which can be summed up in the phrase "God always comes down": Grace is God's free gift - "...while we still were sinners, Christ died for us" (Rom 5:8b, NRSV). We experience it through Baptism, God's Word, and Holy Communion. At worship, we meet God's grace in the word, water, bread, and wine. Through these means, God strengthens us in our confidence and faith in him and our love and concern for each other and the world.
As a visitor, we welcome you in the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ.  As a prospective member, we invite you to discover how becoming a part of our church family may serve your needs, and to explore how your talents may be used in the Lord's work in our congregation and the community.

Come celebrate Jesus!

All we are and all that we have, including our financial resources, belong to God. We are the Church!

While Markham Lutheran is closed, you can either mail your tithe and offering check(s) to the church, or use Paypal! (You don't have to have a PayPal account to use the service. Designate your donation "friends and family.") Thank you!
