MARKHAM LUTHERAN CHURCH - Baptized to serve.
MLC's Mission/Stewardship Projects
Our Stewardship Committeeunder the leadership of Mary Molnar, chooses various projects throughout the year.  If you have an idea for a project that you would like to organize and lead, please discuss it with Mary, who will either approve it, or bring it to the church council, if necessary.

Following is the link to our prayer list; if you have a name you'd like to add to the list, please talk to Phyllis.  If you would like Pastor to pray for someone during the Prayer of the Church, please e-mail him:

Or clearly print or type their name and situation on a piece of paper and give it to him before church.

Please bring your used printer cartridges to the church and drop them in the designated box in the narthex. We turn them in and earn credits for teachers/schools.

Meredith Postlewaite is collecting items for "care packages" for our college students and military personnel.  Following is a list of needed items, and cash donations are always appreciated, too.  You can place your envelope marked "for care packages" in the collection plate.

Small bags of chips +  microwave popcorn + oatmeal cups +  pudding cups + ramen noodle cups + Kraft Easy Mac and Cheese Cups +  granola and/or cereal bars/cookies +  fruit snacks +  drink packets for bottled water +  fun size candy bars + personal care products, especially multi-purpose shower products + disposable razors + sports socks

Lauren Findlay is raising money to make care backpacks filled with essentials for the homeless. Lauren has made friends with some of these folks in her town and realizes their need. She says, "We all take things like soap and clean socks for granted when these people are lucky to have a sock with only one hole. All money raised is going towards supplies for these backpacks. Monetary or supplies donations (soap, body wash, wash cloths, hairbrushes, toothbrushes and tooth paste, shampoo and conditioner, tissues, tampons and/or sanitary napkins, socks, non-perishable snacks, etc.) are greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance."

"Just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me." (Matthew 24:40, NRSV)

If you want to help victims of natural disasters, war, famine, or illnesses such as malaria or ebola, etc., in our own country and around the world, but aren't sure what organization you can trust
with your donation, check out

Due to a malicious fire, MLC will no longer be accepting paper materials for recycling!  Please leave recyclable paper and magazines in the bin at St. Gerard Majella Roman Catholic Church, 16130 Clifton Park Ave., just two blocks south of MLC.

We will happily accept cans. It's better to wait and bring cans when the church is open so that they can be left in the west entry vestibule. The money received is added to the monthly offerings.
